I invite you to see through the eyes of your soul a glorious place in the midst of Glastonbury in the United Kingdom. Entering the Chalice Well Gardens can be a powerful experience in its manifestation of profound inner harmony. It is a timeless and sacred place full of legend, symbolism and an atmosphere of unity. The spring at the Chalice Well is considered a symbol of the continuous and unbounded nature of the life force. Here, many are touched by the inner peace and joy of the Spirit — a celebration of universal peace.

The Earth energies around Glastonbury are experienced by many people to be very powerful. In the gardens it is possible to feel these earth energies from the moment of entering the cobblestone path under the archway of plants. In this extraordinary place it is possible to “appreciate the interconnected and vibrant forces that sustain life upon our Planet.”

Today I am reflecting about the times when it is better to speak or simply remain silent given the circumstances of the moment as we embrace wholeness in living. Years ago I had a good conversation with a friend about discovering our inner beauty and he brought to our dialogue some key ideas from Eckhart Tolle in his book ‘Stillness Speaks’. There, this famous author said, “True intelligence operates silently” and “Stillness is where creativity and solutions to problems are found”.

“Silence is the dignity of a seeking soul”, said Marc Edmund Jones.

I wish to share with you this day my current reflections:

I am Present. You are Present. Here and Now.

Slowing down pace in living contributes to the process.

Time of quiet Meditation enhances staying present.

Peaceful listening to music inspires stillness.

Be still and know that PEACE is here!

Be still and KNOW…

Be STILL…

BE.

Wisdom comes from within.

When I first encountered the Peace Pilgrim book many years ago I became inspired to share her teachings in Spanish and translated her book to my first-language — that became the beginning of my work for peace. This day I would like to invite you to visit the Friends of Peace Pilgrim website, and explore at your own pace her teachings and expanded contribution to society.

From 1953 to 1981 Peace Pilgrim walked more than 25,000 miles on a personal pilgrimage for peace. She vowed to “remain a wanderer until mankind has learned the way of peace, walking until given shelter and fasting until given food.” In the course of her 28-year pilgrimage she touched the hearts, minds, and lives of thousands of individuals all across North America. Her message continues to inspire people all over the world: www.peacepilgrim.org

May you have an opportunity to do so, come to the home town where Peace Pilgrim was born, Egg Harbor City, New Jersey on the weekend of July 16-18 for our annual Peace Pilgrim birthday celebration. For more details please see: http://www.peacepilgrim100.org/index.htm

From Peace Pilgrim:

The power of thought. “Do you know that every moment of your life you’re creating through thought?”

Bringing our lives into harmony with the laws that govern the universe. As Peace said, to attain inner peace we need to align the way we live with our beliefs.

Finding our place in the life pattern. We are all cells in the body of humanity — all of us, all over the world. Each one has a special contribution to make, and the guidance to find our mission in life comes from within.

Charito Calvachi-Mateyko, as we join our efforts in exploring inner peace, asked me in a radio interview transmitted on ‘Radio Centro’; WLCH, 91.3 FM in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, United States, why is it important to give love to the world?

I would love to share with you some of my comments and would love to hear yours.

Peace Pilgrim, who walked more than 25,000 miles for peace, sharing her core values for an expansion of consciousness, said, “Love is the greatest force on earth. Love conquers all.” She was referring to the great potential each of us has to manage conflictive situations with love. Using the transformative power that love offers.

This is a good opportunity to comment in detail of an incident that happened to our traveling friend and its message of peace. She once was struck by an upset adolescent, with whom she had begun to walk. He had wanted to go on the trip, but was afraid of breaking a leg and being left behind. Everyone was afraid to be with him as he was an enormous boy, the size of a football player, and was well known for being violent occasionally. On one occasion he struck his mother so hard, she had to spend several weeks in hospital. All feared him; but Peace Pilgrim offered to walk with him.

As they reached the top of the first hill, everything was going well. But soon a storm appeared. The boy was terrified because the storm was so close by. He reacted, suddenly approached Peace Pilgrim and hit her. She didn’t run although perhaps she might have, as the young man carried a heavy backpack. Even though he was striking her, Peace Pilgrim could feel only the deepest compassion for this young man who was so ill psychologically as to strike a defenseless, and older, woman. Peace Pilgrim countered his rage with love even while he was beating her … and with this he stopped.

He said to her, “You didn’t hit me back! Mother always hits me back.” In spite of his upheaval, Peace Pilgrim’s reaction elicited kindness in the boy. He felt remorse and condemned his own actions.

In summary, the young man stopped being violent and today is a useful person in the world.

Plato described love as the union of two souls with the same divinity. Jesus Christ said: ‘Love one another as I have loved you.’ Taoist Chuang-Tzu taught that through love we experience the inherent connections between ourselves and others, seeing the creation as one. Marc Edmund Jones commented that the testimony of the world is towards unity. Buddha saw that understanding and love are one.

To close my blogs about my strategy in managing life challenges, today I would like to talk about some final key elements in my process, which became instrumental in attaining a sense of transcendence and completeness. (For antecedents on this topic please see my previous blogs, Focus is Manifestation – Parts I to IV.)

I would love to hear your comments as you see fit.

In a conversation with a friend, he emphasized that finding the “right moment” when dealing with disease or challenging circumstances is of supreme importance for the unfoldment of health. In my own healing work when I first experienced severe tinnitus I knew that moment had come when I moved from the phase of uncertainty to the stage of rebuilding my life. I still remember the day when the great insight came to me… I realized I had to live… pure and simple… it was a supreme need to live that took me into a firm determination and shift from an approach of “live with it” or “cope” to manage and transcend tinnitus in a renewed spirit of wellness and completeness. Yes, I was going to be able to do so if I could only decide… truly from the depths of my being… that I could do it.

Such initial one moment of supreme importance was strengthened by the realization that pain is for a purpose.

Marc Edmund Jones, founder of the Sabian Assembly, spoke of these things and here are some of his insights:

Experience is rehearsal. Experience is under continuous reconstruction.

Every limitation in life is an opportunity for the clarification of one’s direction in a wider perspective, never a set-back or an obstacle.

The person with many troubles is alive and their contribution may possibly be greater than that of someone with high success in smooth living.

Suffering is pain with a purpose. When suffering, a person may enter into deeper realms of living and lift life to higher levels of experience and understanding.

Finally, here are a few additional comments to round out Focus is Manifestation, an approach to meaningful living, also supported by insights of another dear friend who made her transition to spirit four years ago.

Remember, you receive from it what you put into it.

Ask, what can I do with this? — What is it good for?

Create! Ask, how can I make this a creative challenge rather than an overwhelming obstacle?

Appreciation is a key.

You make your reality via the significance you give to your experience.

Act “as if.”

Be yourself — manifest your full potential!

A person in Cuba has asked me to share some thoughts about the Sabian perspective about opportunities. Marc Edmund Jones, founder of the Sabian Assembly, expressed that everything we experience becomes an opportunity or a challenge and never a calamity or a test or payment of ripe karma and the like. Every limitation in life is an opportunity for the clarification of one’s direction in a wider perspective, never a set-back or an obstacle.

My correspondent replied that what he could take from my comments was the importance of having positive thinking, understanding that rather than a punishment we are talking about an opportunity to change.

“That which we focus on we strengthen”, a dear friend used to say, and her words of wisdom resonate through my life experiences and process to kindle the inner light while confronting and managing life challenges.

More about this approach in life in following blogs.

The Buddha was the most awakened man of his time. Nobody like him understood human suffering and developed benevolence and compassion.

One of his cousins, Devadatta, was always jealous of the teacher, and interested in discrediting him, even ready to kill him.

One day as the Buddha was quietly strolling, Devadatta saw him and threw a heavy rock from the top of a hill with the intention of killing him. The rock landed by the Buddha’s side and Devadatta did not attain his objective. The Buddha noticed what happened and remained unmoved, keeping a smile on his lips.

A few days later the Buddha found his cousin on the road and greeted him affectionately. Greatly surprised Devadatta asked:

˜ Aren’t you angry, sir?

˜ Of course not.

Greatly astonished, he asked:

˜ Why?

And the Buddha said:

˜ Because you are no longer the one who threw the rock, nor am I the one who was there when it was thrown.

The Teacher says: For the one who knows how to see, everything is transitory; for the one who knows how to love, everything is forgivable.

Allow the “inner you” to bloom… allow the “divine spark” within you to see kindness in others. Open your eyes and your heart to all the beauty that exists in the universe… the flame that inspires your appreciation of the world. Allow your mind, with your heart, to expand your understanding of others, permiting your sensitivity to touch their internal fiber in profound recognition of their point of view. Allow God to guide each of your steps so that you are, each and every moment, a light that illuminates the firmament.
