Healing Gifts

Friday, December 28th, 2012

Patti Hudson, a Sabian student and dear collaborator, was recently thinking about my peace work going all over the world and wondered if I would consider including the Peace Meditation on the Healing Gifts from the Sabian Healing Ritual in one of my international notes.

          So the time is now!

“Be still, and know that peace is here!
    A quiet indwelling peace,
    A perfect satisfying peace,
A peace that lies deep within the very depths of being,
A peace that leads to the joyous outreaching of self,
A peace that is the sole and only source of happiness—
This divinely-appointed exalting peace is here!
    Be still!

Patti adds, “Let there be Peace on Earth
and let it begin with me!”

Sharing Thoughts of a Dear Friend

Tuesday, October 2nd, 2012

Poems from my dear friend continue to come to me in a desire to share them with you.  Peace within embraces it all.

Peace Brother

Solitary Sunday.
Mist on muddy canal
Dances ever so slightly.
Crow caws,
A fish rises.
The splash widens in circularity,
Defining a serenity
To be absorbed and cherished.

Sharing about Life Purpose

Wednesday, August 22nd, 2012

In a presentation to the Congregation Keneseth Israel earlier this year I shared with the group the Hassidic Saying that captures the essence of my philosophy of life:

“All souls are one.  Each is a spark
of the original soul, and this soul is inherent
             in all souls.”

In the context of the oneness of all, this session was an opportunity to talk about the power of the wisdom that arises from within as a meaningful golden stepping stone to wholeness.  When we allow the rush and pressure of our days to fall away, we are more able to discern the essential truth of what lies before us.  Peace Pilgrim said, “Each of us is a cell in the body of humanity, and has the potential to make a special contribution.  Alan Cohen, author of “Rising in Love – The Journey into Light” invites people to clarify their role by asking themselves: “Where does my passion call me?  How can I serve others in the highest way possible?  What tools can I offer that will bring them greater peace and aliveness?  Regardless of what I was told about how the world is supposed to work, what do I know, from inside out, about how life really works?”

I look forward to hearing your thoughts about your own mission in life.

Creative Manifestations

Monday, August 6th, 2012

How are you expressing your creativity?  Are you inspired to share the core of your being through creative writing, poetry, music, dance or any other expanding way to unfold your imagination through inner communion with the divine?

In response to one of my earlier Musings, Carol Zengara shared some words of wisdom coming from Dane Rudhyar, which capture what resides in her heart.

“The individual who is consecrated and true to the spirit acts as the spirit, in terms of human needs.  Performing thus the acts of the spirit, carrying forth the dynamic purpose of life, the individual will know fulfillment and harmony.  He will know it as the cyclic linking of God and of man within the creative act.  He will know it as the lightning knows the Earth, as the wind feels the sea, as light experiences the worlds it stirs out of space.”

Walking the Talk – Part Two

Tuesday, June 26th, 2012

A dear friend in the United States was a magnificent example of when to act and when to suspend action when needed.  She was an inspiration for me from our first encounter in 1992.  In her cheerful mood she always had a word of HOPE for all – even in the light of a severe stroke that kept her in very difficult circumstances for nine years.  Throughout those years we had remarkable conversations at her bedside as we held a weekly study group and other visits where she shared her interpretation of life as a dynamic idealist.  She was always confident in her ability to act out the best in living. Her acceptance of the stroke and her positive approach set an outstanding example.

Being in the present, she would say, “that which we focus on, we strengthen”.  Another of her sayings used to be “Just connect.”  And it manifested in multiple ways each day.  She would give thanks for just being.  She would highlight a link in thought and heart and constantly appreciate each dear uniqueness.

Her living, eternal memory is close to many of us who were touched by her life.

Brian J. Donley, fellow author and friend who published The Original Psychology of Success continuously shares his vision of greatness with me and today I would like to invite you to reflect for a moment on five words that, according to Brian, if used and substituted for their opposites will assist anyone in the creation of a truly wonder filled life.
  • Moderation
  • Generosity
  • Humility
  • Trust
  • Love

Dynamic Harmony

Wednesday, May 2nd, 2012

In an interview transmitted by WLCH, 91.3 FM in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, U.S.A., Charito Calvachi-Mateyko asked me, “What do you mean when you speak of reaching a state of dynamic harmony?”

True harmony is mainly a perfection of what we can do in common with others, what we can achieve when we work as a team.  Inaction or a static condition is out of harmony, what counts is what we do – the activity that comes as a result of cooperation between people – the "doing" is what is harmonious.

Real harmony in a group is something vital; I am speaking of the varied contributions of members achieving harmony through individual cooperative efforts.  The idea of a dynamic harmony can potentially be implemented in our intimate family circle or with friends, in our work group, and in broader circles of interactions, including local, national and international relations.

Group Harmony and Cooperation

Saturday, April 21st, 2012

Yesterday I had the joy to attend an event at the Center for Community Peacemaking in my hometown whose mission is to foster peacemaking and the resolution of conflict with others through the teaching and implementation of Restorative Justice values and principles. Their resources, within others, focus on group dynamics that support and encourage harmonious relationships.

And this morning, I wonder:

·      What is the value of harmony in a group?
·      What does it mean to me to engage in a cooperative effort?
·      How does harmony in a group relate with inner peace?

Inner peace comes when facing problems with an attitude that leads to solutions for ourselves and in our outreach to others. Following this path means more than being free of tensions, or escaping experiences that cause pain during difficult moments, as that would artificially divide life. It implies living in such a way that we continuously develop new resources to more effectively handle situations within ourselves and in our relationships with others. It is a state of dynamic harmony through which we explore and constantly realize our inner potential in expanded living.

“True harmony in a group is a vital thing,
the varying contributions of the members
achieving consonance through the co-
operative intent of each.”

A Wedding Blessing

Friday, September 9th, 2011

My husband, Robert A. Kline, and I have enjoyed over two decades of a very happy and harmonious marriage, based on our mutual love, respect, trust and understanding.  When we celebrated our Silver Anniversary with dear family, we asked them all to sign a paper for us, as witness of our everlasting commitment.  This special document was written by my dear friend, Rusty Smith Carnarius, for other friends on the day of their wedding.  She has given me permission to share it with other people and I am joyful to post it for you today.

A Wedding Blessing, by Rusty Smith Carnarius

Health is Well Being

May your bodies always be the dwelling place of the love and the joy that you each feel today as, hand in hand, you look fearlessly towards your future together. Remember this sense of vibrant energy and bring it to the service of your daily living

Radiate well being.

Wealth is Endless Resource

May you always have EVERYTHING you need in each moment of your specific need for it. And may this day with its wealth of love and good wishes, which are given unstintingly by your families and your friends to surround you and support you, stand forever as a personal definition of richness.

                                    Use your resources generously.

Happiness is Sharing

May you continuously cherish one another so that each of you, feeling fulfilled and filled full, can walk your individual paths bringing to others that which you have found of gentleness, humor, and security through your marriage.

                                    Continue sharing.

Understanding is the Wellspring of Hope

Everything about us is always in a state of becoming. Help it to become better than it was when you found it and your relationship will, in its turn, bless your world.

                                    Embrace the hopeful.

I ask this in the name of All That Is, in which we as children of all faiths and persuasions live and move and have our Beingness.   Amen.

A Life of Purpose and Poise

Tuesday, August 23rd, 2011

Life is wonder-filled and it constantly opens opportunities for new friendships. One of my new friends sends me her reflections when she receives mine and it is a joy to discover the fruits of her mind at work.

When we enter into experience with the whole of ourselves and with creative aliveness and when we grasp the central essence of that experience inspiration is possible.

This is what she has to say about a life of Purpose and Poise:

"Crystal snowflakes are said to “grow”.  A crystal is formed when a liquid material is allowed to solidify under certain conditions.  Most crystals need a “seed”, a place for the crystal to begin; as do we all, when seeking a purposeful balance in our lives."
