In the Pursuit of Rainbows

Friday, May 10th, 2013

This day I am inspired by the wondrous inner meaning of rainbows…

Each of us finds the significance in them that best reflects our functioning at any given time and in such a mood we find inspiration anew.  Rainbows bring Hope and a fresh perspective in living.  Inspired by Marc Edmund Jones, my thoughts go to the power of eternal values and having meaningful responsibilities in our pursuit of rainbows, the iridescent joys that linger to inspire all.  In the everlasting joy of meaningful living all is possible….

It is always a joy to hear from you and to share in the depths of inner peace and universal harmony.

How do you share your pursuit of rainbows?

Wishing you a wonder-filled Day.

Beauty of the Earth

Thursday, March 7th, 2013

Sometimes, a poem or song or hymn inspires us to add to it from the core of our own being as its essence touches ours.  This is what happened to dear friend, Patti Hudson, who has enjoyed singing the hymn, “For the Beauty of the Earth” since she was a child.  In the last few years, she has added a new verse with words of her own and I am happy to share with you her complete piece in peaceful living.

“For the beauty of the Earth, for the glory of the sky
For the love that from our birth, over and around us lies.
Lord of all to thee we raise, this our hymn of grateful praise.”

It’s beautiful, this universe of which I am a part,
It thrills me, oh it thrills me, deep down within my heart.
To think I help create it, is a wonder beyond words
I am a co-creator, I help create my world.
It ‘s beautiful this universe, it’s beautiful my world.”

She often sings this on beautiful days, taking in God’s beauty while riding a tandem bike with her husband.

The Power of Vision

Tuesday, February 19th, 2013

This day I would like to give recognition to my friend Carole Thompson, whose inner light brightly shines as she moves through life in search of deeper understanding through peace within..

She just described herself as…

“Fully thinking – Reflecting higher thought, with taller vision…”

Healing Gifts

Friday, December 28th, 2012

Patti Hudson, a Sabian student and dear collaborator, was recently thinking about my peace work going all over the world and wondered if I would consider including the Peace Meditation on the Healing Gifts from the Sabian Healing Ritual in one of my international notes.

          So the time is now!

“Be still, and know that peace is here!
    A quiet indwelling peace,
    A perfect satisfying peace,
A peace that lies deep within the very depths of being,
A peace that leads to the joyous outreaching of self,
A peace that is the sole and only source of happiness—
This divinely-appointed exalting peace is here!
    Be still!

Patti adds, “Let there be Peace on Earth
and let it begin with me!”

Harmonious and Joyful Living

Thursday, November 15th, 2012

One of the Peace Pilgrim Beatitudes has made a major impact in a person with whom I have corresponded for many years: “Blessed are they who love and trust their fellow beings, for they shall reach the good in people and receive a loving response."

The Merriam-Webster’s dictionary equates ‘harmony’ with a sense of internal calm or tranquility.  Related words include compatibility, integration, oneness, togetherness, unity.  One of my favorite analogies is like listening to a magnificent classical music masterpiece, each note spontaneously vibrating in a most pleasing arrangement and concordance with all the parts that integrate the whole creating a sense of profound interconnectedness and unity with all that is.

Peace Pilgrim’s Beatitude inspired my correspondent to consider what Peace meant when she talked about being ‘in harmony’.  She has been wondering how she can be in harmony with an out of harmony situation, person, or internal feeling of her own.  And she finally thought about a simple tuning fork.  In her own words, “Let's say I need to be attuned to myself first, aligned to my inner beliefs and principles and living up to the highest light I have at the moment, then I can resonate or be in harmony with other people and situations.  Like sounding one strong, clear, free of conflict, unconfused note. A resonant gong, rather than a loud and jarring alarm clock.”

After a couple of months, she is still feeling very much as she did when she wrote to me then.  She adds, “This feeling of inner harmony or resonance has been very strong and I am so happy and thankful.  It's been such a great gift.  I feel it on all levels of my being: physical, mental, emotional, spiritual; a great sense of clarity and well-being.  I think that's what Peace Pilgrim meant about being ‘in harmony.’  Congruent.  Whole.  A feeling of personal power and of effortless ease that comes from living with integrity with your own deepest aspirations and deeply held beliefs.  I guess it would be the "mind-set" and in addition the equally important, "heart-set" being aligned or attuned.  Resonant.  Consonant.  As a result, JOYFUL!”

Yes… in the wonders of inner peace we resonate as a harmonious gong to all people and situations….

Sharing Thoughts of a Dear Friend

Tuesday, October 2nd, 2012

Poems from my dear friend continue to come to me in a desire to share them with you.  Peace within embraces it all.

Peace Brother

Solitary Sunday.
Mist on muddy canal
Dances ever so slightly.
Crow caws,
A fish rises.
The splash widens in circularity,
Defining a serenity
To be absorbed and cherished.

Light of Unity

Tuesday, July 24th, 2012

The beautiful gardens of the Chalice Well in Glastonbury, England, recently hosted the 2012 Unity Conference, where international speakers enthusiastically shared their understanding about a world where we can live in peace with each other and in Chalice Well, Glastonbury Somersetharmony with nature.

Today, I wish to invite you to meditate on a statement that became the Conference’s theme, in an embrace of this opportunity to develop existing ideas, share new ones and imagine what life would be like living in unity.

“So powerful is the light of
Unity that it can illuminate
the whole Earth.”

Bahá u’lláh

            And from Rumi:

“Yesterday I was clever, so I wanted to change the world.
Today I am wise, so I am changing myself.”

Walking the Talk – Part Two

Tuesday, June 26th, 2012

A dear friend in the United States was a magnificent example of when to act and when to suspend action when needed.  She was an inspiration for me from our first encounter in 1992.  In her cheerful mood she always had a word of HOPE for all – even in the light of a severe stroke that kept her in very difficult circumstances for nine years.  Throughout those years we had remarkable conversations at her bedside as we held a weekly study group and other visits where she shared her interpretation of life as a dynamic idealist.  She was always confident in her ability to act out the best in living. Her acceptance of the stroke and her positive approach set an outstanding example.

Being in the present, she would say, “that which we focus on, we strengthen”.  Another of her sayings used to be “Just connect.”  And it manifested in multiple ways each day.  She would give thanks for just being.  She would highlight a link in thought and heart and constantly appreciate each dear uniqueness.

Her living, eternal memory is close to many of us who were touched by her life.

Walking The Talk – Part One

Monday, June 11th, 2012

In the next few notes, let us focus on the power of making things happen.

Discerning when it is time for action or to postpone action becomes an art.  Our inner wisdom is our best teacher.  There is a time for creative action out of imagination and a time for creative meditation as we deepen our connectedness with all that is through our intuition.  There is a time to act and a time to suspend action during a gestative process.  There is a time to talk and a time to be silent.

Through inward dedication and practical application we become unceasingly alive in the manifestation of our potential.

How do you walk the talk?

Brian J. Donley, fellow author and friend who published The Original Psychology of Success continuously shares his vision of greatness with me and today I would like to invite you to reflect for a moment on five words that, according to Brian, if used and substituted for their opposites will assist anyone in the creation of a truly wonder filled life.
  • Moderation
  • Generosity
  • Humility
  • Trust
  • Love
